Psalm 65 v 5 You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail the distant seas.”
David is credited for writing this psalm. A boy who fought a giant, a man who became King and a fugitive who had to flee from His son who wanted to kill him. But throughout the ups and downs of his life he believed in a God who answered prayer, forgave sins, and found joy in worshipping Him, just as the earth in all its bounty, clothed with flocks of sheep, carpeted with grain. “They all shout and sing for joy.”
I am a traveler. It is not for everyone. I enjoy gong to different countries and learning about different cultures. I realize that there are poor people where I live. People treated unjustly who require reconciliation in our own back yard. But God is the hope of everyone on earth, even the people “who sail the distant seas”. So maybe today think about how rich you are and maybe giving to those who do have a vision until all are fed?
The Canadian Red Cross states: – If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace… … then you are among the top eight per cent of the world’s wealthy. Link here
If in all the world, “From where the sun rises to where it sets, God inspires shouts of joy, ” then we have a responsibility to look after the whole world.

Psalm 65 v 7
Prayer: May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven; May we be faithful travelers as we follow in the footsteps of Jesus who came to be our Bread of Life. Amen.
