Good News

2 Timothy 4: 6-8, 16-18. V 17 “But the Lord stood by me so that I might preach the God News in its entirety for all the gentiles to hear.”

Paul in writing to Timothy was at the end of his life. He had fought the good fight. Finished the race. Remained faithful and was awaiting the glory of God. A prize that is available to all who seek Him. Paul accepted his call to ministry “But the Lord stood by me so that I might preach the God News in its entirety for all the gentiles to hear.” “All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.”

I remember getting my exam results that would decide if I could practice as a Physiotherapist. They came in a small brown envelope. It seemed so insignificant for such a big decision. I had worked harder then ever before to the end to be able to pass the exam, but had it been enough? I was so nervous about opening the letter that I locked myself in the bathroom. I passed. I couldn’t get out quickly enough and started shouting and hooting and hollering. I hope I will feel like that at the end of my life too. I must admit I am not altogether happy about dying, I can’t get my head around the fact that it might be today or twenty years from now. However, I do know that I want to keep doing stuff. Not housecleaning or shopping for things but learning more about the bible, helping those locally and internationally in need of hospitality. Guided by God for the people of God. He will give me the strength to keep going and all glory belongs to Him.

“All glory to God forever and ever! Amen. “
2 Timothy v 18b

Prayer: Holy Father as we all step out everyday to do your work in this world provide us with the strength to keep going and thank you for the joy we feel when we do it. All glory belongs to you! Amen.
