Glory to God

Romans 15:4 -13v 6 Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. “

The scriptures were written long ago to teach us. To give us hope and patience to wait for God’s promises to be fulfilled. May you live in complete harmony with each other. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. “Remember that Christ came as a servant to the Jews. He also came so that the gentiles might give glory to God for his mercies to them. Rejoice with his people, you gentiles. They will place their hope on him.

“Therefore accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.”
Romans 15 v 7

For all my childhood my parents lived hundreds of miles from their families. My grandparents would come and visit for special occasions including Christmas. For my children both sets of grandparents lived 1,000 of miles away but they too would visit most years and were always part of our family despite the distance. Now my own adult children all live within a 30-minute drive from us. We see our grandchildren every week and have enjoyed watching them grow and change as the weeks go by. For our family now living in harmony is very different from what I experienced as a child and when growing my own children. The difference between Jews and Gentiles in how they conducted their everyday lives was just as different. However, the God I believe in allows us whatever our experiences from the past and our current circumstances to join together in harmony with hope for the future. Wherever you find yourself today and throughout the celebrations this year join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Heavenly Father we learn from the stories in the bible of long ago, and  from our own experiences. Thank you for making us who we are today and help us to live in harmony and in hope as we join together this Christmas season with one voice giving you praise and glory. Amen.
