The armies of heaven

Luke 2: 1-14v 13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others- the armies of heaven- praising Go and saying, Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

They journeyed to Bethlehem, Mary about to have her baby, and there was no room in the inn so when the baby was born, she wrapped him in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger. Then in fields nearby Shepherds were visited by an angel who told them of the birth of the Messiah. Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others- the armies of heaven- praising God and saying, Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Sometimes life is harder than we thought it would be. People we know get sick around the holidays. The weather changes travel plans. But the struggles even small to get the turkey cooked and ready on time are worth the warm memories that occur. The smiles as family enjoy their dinner. The laughter as Christmas crackers are pulled and hats are worn by all. Whatever the warm moments you experienced this Christmas remember to give God the glory for all He has done.

“Glory to God in the highest heaven. Luke 2 v 14

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for all the good memories this Christmas. Just as that first Christmas you came down to earth, you provide us with many moments of joy today. With the armies of heaven we praise you.  Amen.
