Psalm 121 v 5 “The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.”
This psalm is meant to be sung by pilgrims going up the hill to Jerusalem. It starts by saying “I look up to the mountains- does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. He will not let you stumble. The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.” The Lord keeps you from harm and watches over your life, now and forever.
How are your March Break plans coming along? Have you ever been in a situation where you are looking around for support? Like the pilgrims who were on a long walk to Jerusalem, going up hill, they first thought of support from the mountain. I have worried myself sick, literally, on many occasions trying to organize the perfect vacation, however as my faith journey deepens, I worry less and trust God more to watch over me. I still take sunscreen and bug spray and clothes for all weathers, but what a feeling to realize that “The Lord himself watches over me. The Lord stands beside me as my protective shade. He does that for you too so enjoy making your plans and the journey too knowing that your help comes from the Lord!
Prayer; Heavenly father thank you for standing beside us in all we do. Build our trust in you every day as we realize you are our protective shade. Amen.
