Family Fun Day –  Survival!

As a parent the only constant in our relationship with our children is change.  Just as you wake up one morning and find that their shoes are two sizes too small, suddenly you wake up and find that your devoted two- or three-year-old has learn’t the word “no”. Your six-year-old starts teaching you how to behave as “at school we do things like this” and teenagers tell you that everyone is allowed to do that! So how do we as parents navigate this changing environment, provide the boundaries that they need to test, maintain our own identity, and somedays just survive?

“Love is patient and Kind.”
1 Corinthians 13 v 4

Children are to be loved first. Whatever kind of week you have been having take a break today. Make a boat in the living room and sail away to an island or pretend to go fishing. Save the discussions about routines, picking up your clothes and learning to do your own laundry for another day. February is a time we think about love, show some to your family today!
