Ready?

 Acts 10: 44-48 v 45 “The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the gentiles too. “

As Peter was talking the Holy Spirit fell upon those listening. The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the gentiles too. They heard them speaking in other tongues and praising God. He gave orders for them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

Were the Jews ready? Was Peter ready? Were the gentiles ready? The Holy Spirit came, ready or not! Part of the Jewish faith today is the great debate about the scriptures. The answer to their questions was taken out of their hands as the Holy Spirit came to the gentiles. And Peter responded by baptizing them.

Life as a follower of Jesus is to be ready. To expect the unexpected. To move forward due to the signs that you see around you. Ready or not the Holy Spirit will show you the way.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the example of your Son Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit as we work for your glory today. Amen.
