2 Corinthians 4: 5-12 v 7 “We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.”
We don’t preach about ourselves. We preach that Jesus is Lord. For God who said “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts. We know the glory of God as see in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. Yes, we live under constant danger of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you.
I have lived in two different countries, but both have allowed me to freely worship God. Slowly I was able to talk about my faith at work and did not lose my job. I volunteered for many years within a traditional church system and although on occasions I was burnt out by the process my faith grew. Now in the last season of my life I am more aware of the natural death that comes to us all. So, despite the security I feel I have lived in until now, I live under the constant danger of death. Friends around me are repeatedly attending funerals of parents, of extended family members and even of spouses. But the light of Christ glows so in that in that darkest place of death, we can see the face of Jesus, lighting our way. That the power we rely on to sustain us comes from God and not ourselves.

Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for the light of Jesus that is with us always even in our darkest moments. Praise ye the Lord! Amen.
