One body

1 Corinthians 12 v 12-27 V18 “But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part, just where He wants it.”

The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one body. We have all been baptized into one body by the one spirit, and we all share the same Spirit. If the foot says, “ I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,” that does not make it any less a part of the body. But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part , just where He wants it. The head can’t say to the feet,” I don’t need you.” In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary. All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.

“All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12 v 27

I have often seen this part of the bible used as a time to acknowledge those in a church body who often ignored in the big picture of running a Church family. Thanks are given for those who plough the parking lot in winter, re catalogue the library books, deliver meals to shut ins. Today however I see the many different denominations in our community who are each doing their part for the community of believers, as we all share the one Spirit. God has put each part just where He wants it. Be glad today that He is using you as part of one body, as we all care for each other and be glad.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for making us a part of your body in Christ Jesus. Help us to use your gifts for the good of all and appreciate those who do their part as well throughout the community. Amen.
