God’s Choice

Luke 4: 21-32 v 25- 26 “Certainly there were many needy widows in Israel in Elijah’s time when the heavens were closed for three years, and a severe famine devastated the land. Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them. He was sent instead to a foreigner. “

Everyone spoke well of Him (Jesus) and was amazed by the gracious words that came from His lips. But I tell you the truth, no prophet is accepted in his own hometown. Certainly, there were many needy widows in Israel in Elijah’s time when the heavens were closed for three years, and a severe famine devastated the land. Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them. He was sent instead to a foreigner. When they heard this the people in the synagogue were furious. They intended to push Him over the cliff, but He passed right through the crowd and went on His way.

“And many in Israel had leprosy in the time of the prophet Elisha, but the only one he healed was Naaman, a Syrian.” Luke 4 v 27

God is always a part of the small things as well as the big things. But all the choices are His as He is the one who sees the big and the small picture. This week I was able to see the Dr by just one phone call, at other times I have had to call and call for the phone to be answered. I had a conflict of appointments but was called regarding a cancellation that resolved the conflict. Small things that helped me when I was in need. Jesus was accepted for His wise words then run out of town, but God was there, and he passed through the crowd. He understands us completely and our needs but works for the greater good of all. Continue to have faith that Jesus is Lord of all and trust that when He is slow to respond that is His plan too. He will rescue you from being pushed over the cliff!

Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for your daily concerns that we see in our lives and for the bigger picture as we trust in your choices for a better world. Amen.
