Delight in the law

Psalm 1v 2 “But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night.”

Joy if you do not follow the advice of the wicked, stand with sinner, join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. But not the wicked! They are scattered in the wind. Condemned at the time of judgement. The Lord watches over the path of the godly, the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

There is a point in all our lives when we ask the question what is my purpose in this life? As we continue the theme of choices, in this first psalm in the bible, we see the choice between joy and destruction. Follow God or not. Simply put following the laws of God is good, and we will be productive people. Being wicked, a sinner or mocker is not.

“For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.” Psalm 1 v 6

Repetition of information is important in the learning process, between 6 to 20 times at least before children grasp a new concept. The repetition found in the bible is for our own good, to help us learn. Studying it each day helps us to grow fruit every season and to prosper and be joyful. Making the choice to believe is only the start of our faith journey. Finding delight in the law, meditating on it day and night is how we continue.

Prayer: Holy God who is watching over the path we lead in this life help us daily in our faith journey to delight in the law. Amen
