Psalm 16 v 3 “The godly people in the land are my true heroes!”
Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge. Every good thing that I have comes from you. The godly people in the land are my true heroes! Lord you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. What a wonderful inheritance! I know the Lord is always with me. My body rests in safety. You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasure of living with you forever.
Who are your heroes? Being brought up in England I always admired the Queen for her dedication to God, her country and her family. Then there was Billy Graham a truly remarkable Christian leader gifted in evangelism and Mother Teresa who demonstrated endurance and perseverance in helping the poor. And I have met many other spiritual people who have influenced me in my faith journey with not such high-profile lives but significant non-the-less to those around them. The everyday heroes we share our lives with. The godly people in the land are my true heroes!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for all the true heroes that are in our lives. for the courage to be different from the world in your name. Amen.
