Truly Glad!

 1 Peter 1;3-9 v 6 “So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.”

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by His great mercy that we have been saved. We have a priceless inheritance- beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation. So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory on the day that Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

My Mum always used to say that old age never comes alone and don’t I know it!! Aches and pains that used to come and go stay around a bit longer and need constant attention. The younger generations seem to handle the world differently and the changes are sometimes simple, like the disappearance of land lines and letter writing because of cell phones and email and more complex from binary genders (men and women) to many different kinds (LGBTQ+). To the big losses of close friends and family, and the fleeting joys of new lives. How can we be truly glad looking forward? Well, we have a precious inheritance- beyond the reach of change and decay! Your faith in God! So, remain strong in your faith. God will protect you! Be truly glad!

Prayer: Almighty God who protects us despite the changes as we age, strengthen our faith through our trials as we journey towards our priceless inheritance and help us to be truly glad each day. Amen.
