Unknown God

Acts 17: 22-31v 27 “His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward Him and find Him- though He is not far from any one of us.”

As I was walking along, I saw your many shrines. And one of your alters had this inscription on it: “To the unknown God.” He is the God who made the world and everything in it. He himself gives life and breath to everything, and He satisfies every need. His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward Him and find Him- though He is not far from any one of us. For in Him we live and move and exist.

“He is the God who made the world and everything in it.” Acts 17 v 24

Today is Mother’s Day. A day to celebrate those who have nurtured us, to reflect on those who we have nurtured. To allow others to nurture us for a day or at least a few hours. But the reminder in this scripture is that our mothers or mother figures are second to God who is the first person to care for us and provide all we need. Rejoice and be glad as you feel your way towards Him and find Him- he is not far from any of us!

Prayer: Almighty God who made the heavens and the earth and all that is in it we thankyou for caring for us and the mothers who have also looked after our needs and shown us the way to you by their love. Amen.
