Acts 8 v 39 When they stepped out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away. The official joyfully continued on his way and didn’t see Philip again.”
The background for this passage is Philip after being told by an Angel to go to a certain road and follow a carriage, met and baptized an official. In today’s world there is a fascination with superpowers and strange encounters. Here in the bible written over 2000 years ago is a similar story. For me, the result of the encounter is important too, “The official joyfully continued on his way and didn’t see Philip again”. Have you ever met someone and been refreshed by the encounter, never to see them again? Could you today encourage someone in the same way?
