The only real Super power

1 Samuel 17: 32-49 v 37 “David added, “The lord, who saved me from the lion and the bear, will save me from the Philistine”. “Go” Saul told David, “and may the Lord be with you.”

There are many superheroes around today in the world of fiction, spider man, the Hulk, Captain America, who fight for what is right and have super sensitivity, super strength, and fighting skills.

There are real life heroes, in the medical field who have helped to develop vaccines, worked tirelessly for the poor like Mother Teresa, or for the environment like David Attenborough or David Suzuki. Athletes who continue to break records for the fastest run, longest jump, as we look forward to the Olympic games later this summer where everyday people will become household names.

There is a common question on social media today “What superpower would you like to have?” What would your answer be?

This real-life story of a young boy David, a shepherd, who fought the professional soldier Goliath, and won using only a sling shot, one small stone, to bring him to the ground, even though he was wearing a suit of armor weighing 125lbs! David could not even walk in the armor he was given by the King so discarded it. His superpower? The Lord God Almighty.

Today the same superpower is available to you. All you have to do is ask.

Prayer: Mighty and merciful God, forgive me for all the poor decisions and actions I have done. I ask today that you guide me to a deeper understanding of your love as demonstrated in your son Jesus, and allow the holy spirit to help me for the rest of my days on earth. Amen
