2 Samuel 5 1-5 and 9-10. “David continued to grow more powerful because the Lord God of Armies was with him.”
David was 30 years old when he became King and ruled for 40 years. A high-profile position but somewhat relatable today to those who study for a job and then spend 40 years working at it.

There are human traits of those who have a long and successful career as in the above picture being a visionary, inspiring others, organized just a few examples. As the stories of David as a King unfold, we know he has all of those. He also has another great ally “The Lord of Armies was with Him” He prayed lots, wrote songs in praise to God, and even danced in the streets with the “joy of the Lord.”
How about today, the sabbath, you take time out to pray, sing or dance or all three to the Lord and see how you feel, and what happens in your week. We are not all destined to be a King or a high profile leader but as in Isaiah 30 v 18 “The Lord is waiting to be kind to you. He rises to have compassion on you. The Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for Him.”
Prayer: Lord God thank you for being with me in all I do this week and help me to show others your love by being kind in Jesus name, Amen
