Not a Good Week

Ephesians 4 25-5.2 v v30 “Don’t give God’s Holy Spirit any reason to be upset with you. He has put his seal on you for the day you will be set free from the world of sin”

I have not had a good week. I have certainly given the Holy Spirit reason to be upset with me. I have wallowed in my own self-pity as I struggle with the restrictions that have occurred due to the pandemic. I talked myself into a few days of not doing things just because I could. Do you have days when you choose to watch TV instead of cutting the grass or doing the dishes? Leave the laundry in the drier or eating that extra piece of cake, pop, or chips as who cares anyway? Well God cares and the Holy Spirit will be upset with me and you as we are not loving ourselves. I am not taking care of those around me or the things that God has given me to look after. I am choosing to let the negative aspects of this world, make me feel sad instead of living in the love that God has for me.

It was my birthday and I had letters from friends and family that told their stories and it made me appreciate what I have. I played with my grandchildren and realized what a pleasure it is to have them and to have the time to play with them. I worshiped with God on a Wednesday night with a group of Christian friends and found peace .

So the solution to not making the Holy Spirit upset with you? . Find friends who you can connect with, a bible to read, and a God who shows you through this and through circumstances that His love surrounds you and is all you need.

Prayer: Loving God, thank you for showing me that you care for me in all I do. Amen
