Genesis 2: 18 -24 v 24 “That is why a man will leave his father and mother and will be united with his wife, and they become one flesh.
Right at the beginning of the bible, God wanted people to live in partnership. In the verses before this passage God states” It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper who is right for him.” So, the story unfolds of how God made woman out of a rib of man. The passage concludes with the above verse “that a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and they become one flesh.”
Today as the effects of the clash of different cultural norms are being explored regarding colonial and indigenous rights going back to the beginning can be helpful. Stating our “core” beliefs. Something that is deeply engrained in us whether we are aware of it or not. People were not meant to be alone, core belief. Finding a partner that is “right “is another and the major worry for young people. Letting go of our children as they approach teenage years and beyond is the worry of the parent. Here is another core belief “that a man will leave his father and mother,” found in my bible on page 2.

In your search for a partner in the changing dynamics as your kids grow and leave home trust that God is with you as a partner in this too.
Prayer: Loving Father thank you for being there in all we do. Guide us to find the partner right for us and strengthen us as our children go out into the world. Amen
