Hebrews 9:11-14 v 14 ” The blood of Christ, who had no defect, does even more. Through the eternal spirit He offered himself to God and cleansed our consciences from the useless things we had done. Now we can serve the living God.”
The old Testament is full of rules about making sacrifices to God. Here in the New Testament however is the reason this is no longer done by Christians. Christ used his own blood not the blood of goats or bulls. So that “now we can serve the living God“
Growth, progress, new ideas, all hopeful words that should be part of your spiritual journey. Just as we see in the bible changes in actions and ideas from the Old to the New Testament we should be prepared to change our ideas , progress and grow our faith. Why ? Because the God we serve is a living God as relevant today as in the time the bible was written over 2,000 years ago. I still love the song “God is watching us”https://youtu.be/lN4AcFzxtdE by Bette Midler but I believe that he is a lot closer as “now we can serve the living God”.
Prayer: Living God come close to us today as we pray for your love to spread around from us to our community to the world. Amen.
