1 Thessalonians 3:9-13 v v12 “ We also pray that the Lord will greatly increase your love for each other and for everyone else, just as we love you.”
Paul was suffering in prison and a friend came to visit and told him how a small group he had planted were still loving God and showing that love to others around them. And what did he pray for? That Gods love will abound, will grow in each other, in those around you, just as we love you.
The Beatles John Lennon wrote a popular song “All you need is love” in 1967 . The lyrics are simple and the refrain is repeated over and over again ” All you need is love” The practical side of me says that you need food to eat and clothes to wear and a roof over your head but if you have those things your life can still be empty. If we are constantly complaining about the world around us where is the Joy? Be kind to those you live with, be nice to those who are sharing the road with you as you drive about, smile at everyone today because God loves you and in giving that love away to others you will be truly blessed. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.
Prayer: Loving Father I thank you for first loving me and I ask that you grow that love in me and give me an opportunity today to show that love to those around me. Amen.
