Jeremiah 31: 7-14 v 9 “They will cry as they return. They will pray as I bring them back. I will lead them besides streams on a level path where they will not stumble.”
The Lord says to sing a happy song, be joyful where ever you are. He is our savior and for that we can be glad in all things. Crying as they return, happy tears as there prayers are unanswered and He brings them back. To walk and not stumble, the scattered to be brought together, fresh grain and new wine. I will give them joy in place of sorrow, my people will be filled with my blessings.
These are strange times. The excitement of Christmas is over . The celebration of the New Year is done. The COVID protocols continue to change and our lives are disrupted . 2020, 2021 and now 2022 dominated by wearing masks, worried about loved ones getting sick and limiting our social gatherings and recreational activities. Remember God’s promise to the Israelites and be joyful, remember the joy found at the manger everyday in 2022.
Sing! A happy song, such as shout to the Lord! Nothing compares to the promise I have in you Lord!
Prayer: Almighty Father despite the quiet start to the New Year encourage us to hold onto your promise that you will place our feet on a level path so that we will not stumble and remind us to sing joyful praises to you everyday. Amen.
