Isaiah 43: 1-7 v 6 “I will say to the north and the south, “Bring my sons and daughters back to Israel from the distant corners of the earth.”
“Listen to the Lord who created you……I have called you by name, you are mine…… because you are precious to me. You are honored and I love you…bring my sons and daughter back…from the distant corners of the earth.”
When reading a passage from the bible sometimes certain words and phrases stand out. Reading the passage several times is part of an ancient Christian practice called Lectio Divina. For me it works well to do this in the morning, I am on my own in the room in my house I use as my space. The above words from today’s passage stood out to me. As we are locked down again, not able to meet in person with family and friends I find comfort in the words that God calls us by name and reassurance that He will bring us back together” from the distant corners of the earth.”

This helps me to live today, knowing that God loves me, with a peace deep in my soul, thankful for what encounters he has for me today. For now, most of the encounters are with myself during lockdown, so I am working on me to enable me to “bring my sons and daughters back”. How are you living each day in lockdown for the Lord?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, open the eyes and the hearts of those who hear you call their name, in the quiet and the solitude of lockdown, in preparation for bringing us back together. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
