A Great Vision

Isaiah 62;1-5 v” The nations will see your righteousness; world leaders will be blinded by your glory. And you will be given a new name by the Lords own mouth.”

The prophet Isaiah is praying for Jerusalem. He says he will not stop praying until “her righteousness shines like the dawn. World leaders will be blinded by your glory, and you will be given a new name by the Lord. “A wonderful vision of a Christian community so bright that others will be blinded, and so honored by God to be given a new name.

Part of living our faith is to be in community with other Christians. To live in a way that produces unity, healthy relationships and people growing in faith. There are 33,000 different names for different Christian communities in today’s world. Following the example of Isaiah it is important to pray for our Christian communities. Take time today to pray so that you can do your best this year so that the local leaders around you will notice what you are doing and your community will brighten up your corner of the world.

Prayer: Almighty God strengthen our community to be seen by others to be doing the right things. Shine your light on the needs in our community so that we can see them and by responding to them introduce new believers to your love. Amen
