2 Corinthians 5:16-21v 18“ And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him.”
Everyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone. It is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. God through Christ gave us the wonderful message of reconciliation. We speak for Christ when we plead “come back to God” Christ was our gift from God, the offering for our sins, so that we could be made right with God.
Yesterday I went shopping. During my working career retail therapy was my go-to source of fun and relaxation. Whatever problems I was struggling with on this earth an afternoon or evening at the mall would calm me down, change my perspective, and reduce anxiety. Sometimes I would buy things that I needed for work but most of the time I would be buying gifts for others. Like yesterday , there were birthday gifts to buy and an Easter egg hunt to prepare as we begin to organize social gatherings again for family and friends.
However, I am looking at things differently now. Yes, I still enjoy shopping and I want to give gifts to my children and grandchildren, but I also want to plead to them to “come back to God” The gift of Christ to the world is something that must be shared with the world. The message of reconciliation between us and God is the most valuable, practical and life changing gift that anyone can receive. Giving gifts to others is good , giving Christ , the gift from God to us is priceless.
