“I have a lot more to tell you, but that would be too much now. Everything the Father says is also what I say. That is why I said” He (The Holy Spirit) will take what I say and tell it to you”
Have you ever been overloaded with information? I remember my final exams and the night before going to the park and swinging on swings because I couldn’t take any more in. When those we know are living the last few weeks, days of their lives and come to say goodbye it is sometimes too much to take in. When you are on vacation and another sandy beach, or castle becomes just another one, the same as all the others and loses the awe we first encountered. When saying a prayer becomes routine and does not hold all our attention, God understands.
That is why the Holy Spirit helps to give us the words, the understanding the truth we need to support us on our spiritual journey. Jesus and God, our Father are so connected that we can know that these words, understandings, and truth come from them to us. So don’t worry about understanding every page in the bible, as God understands that we can be overloaded with information. That we will have times in our lives that are difficult to cope with. Take a deep breath and ask for the help of the Holy Spirit, ask friends to pray for you and the peace of God that passes all understanding will be yours.
Prayer: Holy God, help us today to manage the tough times knowing we are not alone, that you are with us. Send us the words we need to find comfort for ourselves or for others who are hurting. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
