1 Kings 2: 1-2, 6-14 v 2 “I am about to leave this world. Be strong and mature.”
King David was soon to die. His son Solomon was to be the next King and David’s advice at the end of his life was “to be strong and mature” Solomon sat on the throne of David “and his power was firmly established.”
Good advice from older people is to be cherished, especially if they are strong and mature. I was talking with friends last week and we discussed how we could drive to work and not remember a thing about how we got there. However, some details of our lives like good advice can be remembered in detail for years. I am sure you have some that come to mind. So here are some wise quotes from different people:
Charles Dickens said in David Copperfield some good advice about money : ‘Annual income 20 pounds, annual expenditure 19 [pounds] 19 [shillings] and six [pence], result happiness. Annual income 20 pounds, annual expenditure 20 pounds ought and six, result misery.’
“Peace does not mean an absence of conflicts; differences will always be there. Peace means solving these differences through peaceful means; through dialogue, education, knowledge; and through humane ways.” Dali Lama

Prayer: Holy God thank you for the many wonderful quotes in the bible and from wise people that we know. Amen.
