Isaiah 66:10-14 v v13 “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you. You will be comforted in Jerusalem.”
Jerusalem will give you comfort like a mother who fills up her child at her breasts. “I will offer you peace like a river.” “When you see it, your heart will rejoice, and you will flourish like new grass.”
I have young grandchildren around me at this time and have seen many a satisfied baby “drunk on mother’s milk “so this image of comfort for me is a “wow” moment. I am in a different place, outside the “Jerusalem” for years I had thought comforted me, but I find my heart rejoicing and all my life flourishing. Your Jerusalem may be different from mine but there is only one God and one who comforts. Hallelujah!
Heavenly Father, who comforts all who come to Him and allows them to flourish like new grass, we thank you for those around us who help with this in our Jerusalem.” Amen.
