Turnips to Pumpkins

The original Jack o lantern used to frighten away evil spirits was made out of turnip. Early settlers from Europe found that pumpkins were a lot easier to carve so adapted the tradition to carve pumpkins instead of turnips.

Collect some pumpkins with your family today and enjoy drawing faces on them or carving them so that they are ready for Halloween in a few days.

Remember to keep them outside in the cool as they will last longer.
