Genesis 2: 15 – 17, 3 1-7 v 7 “At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness.
The Lord placed the man in the garden to look after it. He also warned him “That you may eat freely from any tree in the garden except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” The serpent was shrewd. “Did God say that you couldn’t eat from any of the trees in the garden? Eve exaggerated God words ‘If we even touch the tree we will die.” The serpent offered that Eve may be like God if they taste the fruit from the tree! Eve was convinced ate the fruit and gave some to her partner Adam. At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness.

Today we call them “aha moments”. When at a conference or education session when what you have heard changes things forever. You will never see the world the same again. You cannot go back only forward with your thinking, with your actions. It might only affect your corner of the world, but somethings have greater meaning and effects. When the world health organization declares a pandemic, when the Federal Government orders you to stay home and restrict gatherings to under ten people. This passage is the description of one such moment in all our lives. When someone’s actions changed the world forever. After eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge, of good and evil. “At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness.”
Almighty God who holds the wisdom of the world in your heart guide our thoughts to your ways. To the “aha moments” that bring you joy and us salvation. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
