Come

Jeremiah 31: 1-6 v 6 “The day will come when watchman will shout from the hill country of Ephraim, ‘Come, let us go up to Jerusalem to worship the Lord our God.”

“In that day, says the Lord I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be my people. Those who survive will find blessings in the barren land, and rest. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself. I will rebuild you. Again, you will be happy and dance with tambourines. You will plant and eat from your own gardens. The day will come when watchman will shout from the hill country of Ephraim, ‘Come, let us go up to Jerusalem to worship the Lord our God.”

This is the day of pause. Yesterday Jesus was crucified. For those who have survived the pandemic, the isolation, the wars, the floods, the high winds, the effects of climate change. Today we see the hope that is our God. A God who loves us, with an unfailing love. Want’s the best for us to feed us and to be happy. The day has come. It is time tomorrow to celebrate and to worship the Lord our God.

The Easter Bunny is fun. Brightly colored eggs and painting them makes me smile. But true love, joy, and peace are found only in our God.

So today I shout out to all “Come to worship” Google will enable you to find a church service in person, online at any time. Find what you are comfortable with and allow God to show you His love for you, to be happy and dance!

“You will again be happy and dance merrily with your tambourines.”
Jeremiah 31 v4b

Prayer: Holy God guide each one of us to the place you want us to be to worship you. Amen
