Living

John 14:15-21 v 19 “Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live.

Obey my commandments. I will ask the Father for an advocate. The Holy Spirit. I will not abandon you as orphans. “Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live. Love me, love the Father, then I will love you.

Having grandchildren has been a wonderful surprise. Seeing the world through their eyes as we walk through the woods, noticing the colors of the spring flowers and them getting excited “as there are more here, and here’ is infectious. We keep to the trails in the forest, stop at the road and look for cars before we cross, then hold hands and walk not running. Along with the joy of experiencing the world are the rules for our safety. I see the same understanding in this passage to experience the joy of living we must obey the commandments.  Hold the hand of the Holy Spirit, and see God in the world around us, so that we will live too. Then love will be shared between Jesus, the Father and us. No longer orphans.

“Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me , my Father will love them.” John 14 v 21

Prayer: Almighty God, who made this wonderful world for us to enjoy keep us on the path that obeys your commandments, so that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can live in your love. Amen.
