1 Peter2:2-10 v 2 “Like newborn babies, you must crave spiritual milk so that you will grow into the full experience of salvation.”
Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste for the Lord’s kindness. You are coming to Christ who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. And you are the living stones that God is building into His spiritual temple. You offer spiritual sacrifices that please God. Yes, you who trust Him recognize the honor God has given him. You are chosen. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.

1 Peter 2 v 9b
In the CrossWalk family there are three of us in the leadership team with new babies here or on the way so the craving of newborn babies for food is near and dear to our hearts. Even walking through the mall or at a large outdoor event the cry of a newborn baby is distinct and easily recognized by any mother. It is a need that in your deepest being needs to be satisfied. So the craving of our bodies for spiritual milk can be understood as one of our deepest needs. And how babies grow! With nothing but milk for the first six months of their lives they change from only lying in your arms to sitting and smiling and responding to the world around them. And as Christians we can do the same. Responding to the world around us with the love of Christ that comes from spiritual practices.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the basic need we have for the spiritual practices of reading your word and praying. May you show us how to express your love to others every day. Amen.
