Psalm 104:24-34, 35b v 35b “Let all that I am praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!”
Words that stood out
O Lord, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you made them all. They all depend on you to give them food as they need it. You open your hand to feed them, and they are richly satisfied. When you take away their breath, they die and return to dust. May the glory of the Lord continue forever! I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath! Let all that I am praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!
Reflection
Biodiversity, here in the psalms, what a surprise! And if all the different species on this earth are fed by God, then we should support them too. And as we enjoy the diversity in this world in our back yard, in our favorite park, as we travel to different places, sing to the Lord! Praise the Lord! Connect with the natural world today and do your part to ensure that it will continue forever! It could be taking care of a plant, donating to a charity that supports animal habitat, planting flowers for the bees or vegetables to eat. And as you do praise God!
Prayer
Almighty God, we thank you for the wonderful world you have made from the tiny insects to the amazing animals in the sea. Help us support you in feeding them today and accept our praise for the wonderful things you do. Amen.
