Genesis 12: 1-9 v7 b “And Abram built an altar there and dedicated it to the Lord, who had appeared to him.”
Words that stood out
The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.” I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. Abran was seventy-five years old when he left Haran. Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your descendants.” And Abram built an altar there and dedicated it to the Lord, who had appeared to him. He then went to the hill country. There he built another altar.
Reflection

In the Old Testament we see certain people talking directly to God. They listen, follow His instructions and always dedicate what they are doing to Him. During this baseball season I see the Bluejays players dedicating their play to God as they look to heaven with thanks when they reach a base. Abram was seventy -five when he followed God’s plan! We are never too old to listen to God, follow his directions and dedicate the process to Him.
Prayer
Gracious and loving God, thank you for creating such a wonderful world! I love you. I fail to recognize your presence sometimes. In you I can always depend- the light that will never be distinguished. All praise and honor and glory are yours alone. Thank you.
