For to me living meant living for Christ and dying is even better. So, I really don’t know which is better. I long to go and be with Christ, which would be better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live. Above all, you must live as citizen of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for Him.
Reflection
There is a lot of my life behind me, not so much in front so every step I take is important. I thank God for continuing to let me breathe today. But to think of the aches and pains of old age being taken away and having a new body to praise God with is indeed a rather exciting thought. And one that Paul was having at this time too. But it is not up to us to decide the ultimate length of our lives but to know that if He still has work for us to do, we need to gather up your courage and stamina and despite our struggles keep going, supported by the Good News that is the bible and to know that Jesus suffered a whole lot more to save the world. It is up to each one of us as future citizens of heaven to keep on track with the work god wants us to do.
Prayer: Heavenly Father who supports us in our everyday struggles so that we can continue His work we thank you that our reward is to be citizens of heaven. Amen.
