Acts 10: v 46 “They heard these non-Jewish people speaking in other languages and praising God.”
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” Saint Augustine.
In todays scripture reading the disciples of Jesus heard non-Jewish people speaking in different languages and praising God. This act changed them profoundly. They started to baptize non-Jewish people as they saw that the Holy Spirit was given to non-Jewish people by God as well as Jewish people. Travelling as Saint Augustine stated around 400AD expands your understanding and can do the same for us today. It can change profoundly our daily lives due to experiences of another culture, another town. Today Sunday or Sabbath at its most simple definition is a time of rest. So, take some time to rest and look at photos of your own travel experiences and remember how you were changed by them. Think about how your life changes when you praise God and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Happy Sabbath!
Prayer: Loving Father, thank you for all the experiences in my life that have made me who I am today. For experiencing your love in the wonder of the world, knowing that you give your Holy Spirit to guide us to anyone who asks in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah. Amen.
