1 John 5 1-5 ” Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born from God”
Today is not a good day. Verse 3 sates ” To love God means that we obey His commandments. Obeying His commandments isn’t difficult because everyone who has been born from God has won the victory over the world. ” Today the challenges of life during a pandemic have overcome me with sadness and frustration. To read that following God’s commandments is easy does not help. Today I need to experience the big God who moves mountains if you ask Him.
What is that? The quiet voice of reassurance in the next verse “Our faith is what wins the victory over the world” and then it seems like the words of the scripture are like a cheer leader:-
“Who wins victory over the world? Isn’t it the person who believes that Jesus is the son of God?”
“Who wins victory over the world? Isn’t it the person who believes that Jesus is the son of God?”
..and that is how he restores your joy in this world, opening your eyes to the encouragement that is always with you in the bible, in the belief in Jesus the Messiah, and the Holy spirit who helps to show us the truth.
Prayer: Thank you God for showing me today that believing in Jesus is easy and focusing on you helps me to win a victory over the everyday frustrations of my world. Amen
