James 1 17-27 v 22 “Do what God’s word says. Don’t merely listen to it or you will fool yourself”
In the bible there are often confusing stories and hidden meanings. However in this passage from James the words give us a clear picture of what it is like to follow Jesus and be a Christian. “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and should not get angry easily. ” “This word can save you”.
He goes on to say “do what God’s word says. Don’t merely listen to it or you will fool yourself.”
This week I have connected with a mission team in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Just as we are preparing for children to return to school they are also preparing to open a school for children with disabilities. However workers who would normally visit children in their homes are being pulled to work in the school. There was a need for more staff.
What would you do? How has God presented a need to you this week and how will you respond?
Are you merely listening ?

Prayer: Loving Father give us the strength to follow your word not just in our hearts but in our actions to. Amen
