Praise be to God!

 Psalm 68: 1-10, 32-35

What stood out:-

Let those who hate God run for their lives. But let the godly rejoice. Let them be filled with joy. Sing loud praises to Him. His name is the Lord- rejoice in His presence. There your people finally settled, and with a bountiful harvest, O God, you provided for your needy people. Sing praises to the Lord. Tell everyone about God’s power. The God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.

Yesterday an alarm went off on my phone five or six times as I was driving home from completing an errand, warning me of a tornado. The sky around me was dark in some places bright in others. One of my errands was to drop off something for my daughter. Her husband and two boys were cleaning the garage and watching the sky and listening to the warnings on the radio. I was worried about what I should do driving home through the storm. My grandson told me if I saw a tornado I was to get out of the car and lay down flat in a ditch. His Dad had told him what to do. Reassured now about what I could do, on the drive home I began to sing, about God’s love. I arrived home safely with less worry and was happy to retreat to my basement if the alarm sounded again! God provided for my needs; I sang songs of praise and found comfort in Him. If you are in a dangerous situation, seek advice from those who have experienced the same thing, be reassured by their words, and sing praises to God.

Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for being there when we need you, for those around us who can help us, and for your unfailing love for which we praise you. Amen.
