Romans 6:1-11v 11 “So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.”
Words that stood out
Should we keep on sinning? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ, we were set free from the power of sin. When He died, He died only to break the power of sin. But now that He lives, He lives for the glory of God. So, you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus
Reflection
A light bulb moment when I was reading this today. In Christ death and resurrection, we can see that change is possible for anyone. That everyone has the chance to be their best selves due to rebirth in Christ. That we can all live this new life as Christ does. Faith in a better you, better circumstances and a community that supports you is possible through our faith. Living our lives alive to God is a wonderful thing!
Prayer
Heavenly Father we thank you for your love that can sustain us through good times and bad. Help us to live alive to your plan, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
