Psalm 13 v 3 “Turn and answer me O Lord my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die.”
Words that stood out
O Lord, how long will you forget me? How long will you look the other way? How long must I struggle? How long will my enemy have the upper hand? Turn and answer me O Lord my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die. But I trust in your unfailing love. I will sing to the Lord because He is good to me.
Reflection
Yesterday was Canada Day and as a family we were all waiting for the evening and the fireworks to begin, anticipating that this would be the highlight of the day. The children were constantly asking, “is it time to go to the park yet? Then a storm came through, fire engines up the street from where I live were dispatched and raced past our home with lights flashing and sirens blaring. The power went out and the community fireworks were cancelled! However, someone in our group had brought a few fireworks, and was given some extra sparklers, so we sat at home and had our own short firework display, and then fireflies came out too for the first time this year. We waited through the storm and the sparkle returned to our lives. Thank the Lord, for He is good to me!
