Correction

Matthew 18:15-20 v “If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense.”

Words that stood out

If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back. Go back again, so that everything you say can be confirmed by two or three witnesses. If that person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven. When two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.

Reflection

I have often prayed to God to be with us when two or three are gathered together. Usually for a time of planning, prayer, or worship. The actual context of this phrase although true also for those circumstances is when a believer is doing something against God’s teachings. This emphasises again that God is with us in the hard times. When you are having difficult conversations with those you love, supported by other believers, God is there too. What an awesome God! One who supports us when we are correcting others, on earth as it is in heaven!

Prayer: Heavenly Father who is there to support us in the difficult times when we try and correct others, we thank you. Guide our difficult conversations this week as we work for the glory of your Kingdom. Amen.
