Lord of the living and of the dead.

Romans 14: 1-12v 7-8 “We don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves. If we live it is to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. “

Words that stood out

Accept other believers that are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. For God has accepted them. You should each be fully convinced that whichever day you choose is acceptable. We don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves. If we live it is to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. Christ died and rose again for this very purpose- to be Lord of both the living and the dead. Remember; we will all stand before the judgement seat of God. Yes, each one of us will give a personal account to God.

Reflection

In my university courses I have been asked to situate myself and discuss my relationship with the class. And here Christ is situated by Paul as one who will judge the living and the dead, who indeed was born for this purpose. And we as believers must be tolerant of other believers who have different views from our own with the reminder that God has accepted them and being slightly different does not exclude them from the Kingdom. For everyone will give a personal account to God.

” So why do you condemn another believer?” Romans 15 v

Prayer- Holy God, who through your son Jesus Christ will judge both the living and the dead, help us today to continue to be kind to other believers. Amen
