Romans 8:12-17 v “Instead, you have received the spirit of God’s adopted children by which we call out, “ Abba!, Father!”
My sister has adopted children. She told them when they were small that they were specially chosen, and they have pictures with other family members and the judge when they legally became part of our family. The Judge commented that this was the favorite part of his job as everyone was always happy. Has it been a happily ever after story? No as most adopted children have scars that are unseen. But who said life as a family is always easy? Some people find the image of a Father God hard as their experiences of a father are far from loving, caring and kind. The end of this passage says” If we share in Christ’s suffering in order to share his glory, we are heirs together with Him.” Life is hard, has its ups and downs however your family is blended. BUT, just as a family is forever so once you are adopted by God it is forever and blessings in your day are there. Our Father is not there just in the good times but in all things you do, is loving and kind and knows what you need.
Being adopted into God’s family is a great thing. Go to the join in page and see how you can be part of the CrossWalk community.
Prayer:-
Our Father in heaven,
Let your kingdom come.
Let your will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
Give us our daily bread today.
Forgive us as we forgive others.
Don’t allow us to be tempted.
Instead, rescue us from the evil one.
